SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- New York's corporations and its lowest-paid workers will both have something to smile about this week because of changes in state laws. So will women who have been discriminated against at work. Here are some of the bigger changes that will happen early in 2016 because of changes in state laws or regulations. Minimum wage hike New York's minimum wage for all workers increased from $8.75 an hour to $9 an hour, effective Dec. 31, 2015. That increase was approved in 2013 as part of the state budget.
